OPX Global began inside a working medical practice — solving real operational problems for real providers. That clinical origin still shapes how we work today.
During the operational upheaval of the pandemic, Dr. Ramesh Chellamuthu faced the same pressures every practice owner did — rising administrative burden, staffing strain, and revenue under threat. At his own multi-specialty group, Regional Clinic in Gadsden, Alabama, he developed remote operating models that ultimately moved roughly 60% of back-office work off-site without sacrificing quality.
Those solutions worked so well that other practices wanted them. OPX Global was created to bring the same clinically-grounded, outcome-focused approach to physician practices, group practices, and health systems nationwide.
Why practices choose OPXA physician, entrepreneur, and nephrologist, Dr. Chellamuthu earned his medical degree from Madras Medical College, completed his residency and fellowship in Internal Medicine and Nephrology in Brooklyn, New York, and holds an MBA (summa cum laude) from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He has served as Medical Director at DaVita Dialysis and as Chief of Staff and Chairman of Nephrology at Gadsden Regional and Riverview Regional Medical Centers.
In 2016 he founded Regional Clinic, now a multi-specialty group spanning five specialties and five locations with nine physicians and six nurse practitioners. The remote operating models he built there became the foundation of OPX Global, which he founded to bring those efficiencies to practices nationwide.
A doctorally-prepared nurse practitioner and former critical care nurse, Justin Ford earned his RN-BSN from Jacksonville State University, a Master of Science in Nursing (adult gerontology acute care) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
He joined Regional Clinic in 2016 as a nephrology nurse practitioner and went on to become its administrator, building out laboratory, infusion, imaging, Chronic Care Management, Remote Patient Monitoring, and Transitional Care Management services. He was instrumental in establishing OPX Global’s operating infrastructure and now leads U.S. operations and client relationships.
